Dental Crowns and Bridges

Crowns and bridges are commonly used to repair badly damaged teeth or replace missing teeth. With modern advancements in technology these restorations can now be colour matched to your teeth, providing a natural looking dental finish.

Crowns come in two types. The first is a custom crafted, thin cap designed to fit over the badly damaged tooth. The cover restores strength and functionality to the tooth and acts as a protective layer for the natural tooth underneath. The colour and shape of the crown are very natural in appearance maintaining the aesthetics of your teeth. The second type of crown is a complete replacement, a prosthetic tooth. It is commonly attached to either a dental implant or bridge to secure the replacement tooth in place. As with the cap, the crown acting as a replacement tooth restores full functionality, provides long term durability and gives a natural looking result.

A bridge is a technique used to position a crown as a replacement tooth. The bridge attaches to capped crowns on either side of the missing tooth gap with the prosthetic crown acting as the replacement tooth. Bridges can be used to replace one or multiple missing teeth and restore full functionality which is durable and natural in appearance.
