Dr Duval and his highly trained team ensure that even the most complicated treatments are carefully and effectively completed to the highest standards available.
Dr Duval has invested greatly in the latest technology and systems at Designer Dental Studio, to be able to restore your teeth to an all- natural look, in a maximum of two appointments. As well as having all front teeth crowns manufactured at a state-of-the-art laboratory, and completed over two appointments, all back teeth crowns can now be manufactured in-house, in one appointment- with the latest computer-assisted CEREC technology. There are very few practices in Australia with this level of technology in place, and a cosmetic dentist as highly qualified as Dr Duval- to sculpt your teeth perfectly.
For heavily restored or broken teeth, this is of no real concern. If the teeth are unrestored (no fillings), a degree of your natural tooth structure will need to be removed. If you are mostly looking at crowns for aesthetic reasons, and are concerned about loss of healthy tooth structure, consider veneers as a more conservative option.
A veneer is a like a false fingernail for the tooth, and is permanently bonded to the outside surface. Like crowns, veneers can also last in excess of 20 years, but they are generally only used for front teeth.
Veneers are thin, and therefore require less of your natural tooth structure to be removed. Veneers are mostly used for aesthetic purposes.
Crowns and veneers are almost identical. The only difference is their shape. Crowns completely cover all surfaces of the tooth, and veneers cover only the outside surface (closest to the cheeks and lips) of the tooth.
