Any time you are playing a contact sport, we recommend that you wear a protective mouthguard. At Designer Dental Studio we have seen many patients, whose dental injuries have been caused by lack of protection, and could have easily been avoided, by wearing a custom mouthguard. Injuries experienced can result in significant tooth discomfort and long term dental concerns. Unprotected teeth can fracture, or fall out completely, when the face and mouth area is hit by an object or another player. These are not scare tactics we are employing. We have seen the results firsthand, many times. In some clashes, front teeth can also pierce the tongue or lower lip. Again, not a pleasant experience and can be avoided.
Many different kinds of mouthguards are available. Many people are aware of pharmacy-bought mouthguards, which soften in hot water and mould to the shape of the teeth. These mouthguards offer some degree of protection, but fit poorly, only covering the teeth, and still will allow certain types of dental injuries to occur.
PPM Mouthguards are custom mouthguards, available at Designer Dental Studio. They are thicker and stronger than pharmacy-bought mouthguards. They not only protect your teeth, but the soft tissues of your lips and gums. They offer full mouth protection.
It is custom designed and fitted by certified dentists, who find your specific bite, allowing you to experience optimum performance, in sport. They are made using a specialized computer machine, that tracks every movement of your jaw, down to the millimetre. The Pure Power Mouthguard is backed by modern science and designed to give you the advantage in sports.
Custom mouthguards are designed on an 'individual' basis, and can be manufactured in a variety of colours. If you play for a team, your mouthguard can even show your team colours!
